By Meletus EZE

The Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government, Lagos State, Mr Wasiu Adeshina, said that the council would partner with Community Development Associations (CDA) on maintenance of ongoing construction projects embarked upon by his administration.

Adeshina made the disclosure in Ikorodu on Wednesday.

According to him, the ongoing construction works in all the wards are complement to the social economic development and goal initiatives of the local government under my leadership.

“This administration went into action in less than two years and we have embarked upon and finished several projects, especially construction and repairs of bad roads.

“This administration has always maintained a commitment toward the successful and satisfactory implementation of our manifestoes and the All Progressives Party’s (APC) agenda,’’ he said.

Adeshina said that the local government had constructed drainages, completed surfacing with asphalt in Molupa St.; built concrete and installed street lights at Ayanra St.; and box culverts at Adeniran Ogunsanya, Kokoro-Abu junction.

He explained that construction of culvert had been completed at Olusesi, Ajegunle and Anifowoshe Streets, while surfacing was done at Obun-Oke, Itamito and Ita-Aro, among others.

“Since our administration was sworn in, we have engaged in massive projects.

“Construction of drainages, building of culverts, extension of box culverts, construction of road surfacing and fixing of street lights and more should be expected,’’ he said.

“However, all these projects are just a phase of our plan. We are planning to   reconstruct the dilapidated fence of Salvation Army Primary School as our next priority, ’’ the chairman said.

Adeshina commended the residents of the local government and party members for their support and promised to promote the social and economic activities of the community.

He said that communities that had not received the dividends of democracy would soon be attended to.
