IGP redeploys newly promoted AIGs

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, on Tuesday, ordered the posting of the newly promoted Assistant Inspectors General of Police.

The AIGs were among the 684 senior officers promoted on August 30 by the Police Service Commission.

The AIGs redeployed by the IG include Mohammed Ali; Fayoade Mustapha; Julius Okoro, and Benneth Igweh.

According to a statement by the Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, the four AIGs have been posted as Zonal AIGs of Zones 1, 2, 4, and 7, respectively.

Igweh and Fayoade were the Commissioners of Police in Lagos and Abuja, respectively.

“AIG Sulaiman Mohammed has been posted as AIG Police Accounts and Budget. Among the posted Commissioners of Police are CP Ibrahim Balarabe to CP Western PAP, CP Olabode Adeleye to CP Intelligence FID FHQ, Abuja and CP Felix Oben to Anti-Fraud FCID Annex, Enugu State,” Adejobi added.

Adejobi added that the eight AIGs and 15 CPs were decorated by the IG.

The decorated  CPs are  Innocent Ifeanyi Emenari,  CP Betty Otimenyin, James Nwokolo, Felix Oben, CP Olusegun Eyitayo, CP Ugobueze Ogbodo, CP Ohagwu Ndukwe, Taylor  Olarewaju, CP Sa’adatu Ismaila, CP Olabode  Akinbamilowo, CP Regina Udoette;  CP Francis  Gbiwen; CP Afolabi  Olatokunbo; CP Ohiozoba  Ehiede, and CP Anthonia Uche-Anya.

Adejobi said the IG advised the newly promoted officers to be good ambassadors of the police.

He said, “The Inspector-General of Police, while congratulating the newly promoted officers, reiterates that every one of them is an ambassador of the Nigeria Police Force and charged them to discharge the schedules of their new ranks within the dictates of the rule of law and citizens’ expectations as the Nigeria Police Force keep working towards a safer country for all citizenry.”
