In a bold move to influence the future of Nigeria’s hospitality sector, Lagos Continental Hotel has unveiled its Training Academy and Staff Dormitory, positioning itself as a hub for learning, leadership, and employee care.
At the inauguration, General Manager Christoph Schleissing framed the projects as part of a deliberate strategy to build a culture of excellence.
“A future where teams come together not only to learn, but to think, create, collaborate, and inspire,” Schleissing said.
The Training Academy focuses on five pillars: training, facilitation, coaching, leadership, and innovation. It is designed to produce professionals who are not only technically skilled but also capable of leading teams and driving innovation.
Cluster Director, Human Resources, Niyi Agoro said the initiative is central to the hotel’s long-term vision.
“Together, we continue to cultivate a culture of innovation, professionalism, and people-centric leadership that will positively shape the future of hospitality in Nigeria and beyond,” Agoro said.
He praised the collaborative effort behind the projects, noting the support of the owning company and the management team under Schleissing’s leadership.
“I also extend my profound gratitude to the hotel management team under the leadership of the General Manager, Christoph Schleissing for their support and collaborative efforts in transforming this dream into a remarkable reality,” Agoro said.
Schleissing said the vision is to make the Academy a reference point for hospitality learning in Nigeria. “We want a place where curiosity is welcomed, professionalism is refined, and innovation is cultivated.”
The Staff Dormitory complements this by addressing employee welfare. Providing quality accommodation allows staff to rest, recharge, and return to work at their best.
Schleissing emphasized that the twin projects are about creating lasting impact. “Here, we are shaping culture. We are shaping the future of hospitality in Nigeria.”
With this launch, Lagos Continental Hotel sends a strong message to the market: invest in people, and the brand will thrive.
“Lagos Continental Training Academy — Knowledge, Professionalism, Integrity, Curiosity,” Schleissing said. “Welcome to the beginning of something extraordinary.”
