LCCI inducts 81 new members, tasks businesses on good corporate governance

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has inducted 81 businesses into its network, urging them to adhere to high ethical standards, integrity and good corporate governance to promote national economic growth.

Mr Babatunde Ruwase, President of LCCI, said this on Thursday in Lagos during LCCI New Members Induction Ceremony in Lagos.

Ruwase said that entrepreneurs should realise that their obligations transcend profit making.

“We should pay adequate attention to the integrity of our business transactions and practices.

“I urge you all to be committed to the ideals of high ethical standards and responsible corporate citizenship.

“Indeed, the Chamber has a code of business ethics to which all members are to subscribe,” he said.

He noted that the chamber has come a long way to build its highly reputable profile and credibility through the vision, selfless services and integrity of its illustrious founding fathers and their worthy successors.

“It therefore behoves us as inheritors of this goodwill and enduring legacy, to keep the flag flying at all times,’ he said.

Mr Soboma Ajumogobia, Chairman, Membership and Welfare Committee, LCCI, said that as the companies join the Chamber, they would contribute their own quota to the development and growth of the chamber and the country.

He said that the chamber would continue to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to deepen economic growth and stability, employment generation, and national development ====NAN
