Dino Melaye: I have an agreement with God to be Kogi State’s next governor

Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye, may emerge the new governor of Kogi State, if all goes well with his ambition to replace the incumbent, Yaya Bello, for who he threw everything to make governor in 2015.

Dino, who already has his present job in the kitty, thanks to the February 23 National Assembly election, which he contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), upped the ante, when he confirmed that he was interested in the governorship election.

A member of the House of Representatives on PDP ticket, Dino, who became controversial for his views, which saw him leaving the chambers in torn clothes on an occasion, crossed over to the All Progressives Congress (APC), from where he contested and won the Senate seat, before returning to the PDP, which he called home, in 2018.

The Senator, revealed his bid for the Lugard House Lokoja on Saturday to PDP members, during a meeting at AiyetoroGbede, Ijumu Local Government Area of the state.

There, he told his audience: “By the grace of God I will emerge the next Kogi Governor. I have called on God and God does not miss my cal.”

In his own message, after the meeting, Dino, followed up with a personal plea to the people of his state, saying: “Here I am, send me.”
