CERMI to train 40 people on renewable energy in ECOWAS region

The Centre for Renewable Energy and Industrial Maintenance (CERMI) on Sunday said it was set to commence a “Training of Trainers Programme” for 40 people within the ECOWAS region.

Mr Jansenio Delgado, the Project Manager disclosed this when the ECOWAS Parliamentary delegation paid a fact-finding visit to the project site of CERMI in Praia, Cape Verde.

He said that the CERMI project will finance the training in different fields related to renewable energy and energy efficiency which will take place at the CERMI’s facilities.

Delgado said the target audience of the training are professionals in the sector from all ECOWAS countries and Mauritania.

He said they would be trained to become trainers, by reinforcing their pedagogical and technical skills.

According to him, the trainers will be issued with certificates that would be recognised at regional level.

He added that the project would also promote capacity building in the private sector and would introduce best practice in the region.
