NiMet predicts cloud, thunderstorms for Sunday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy, thundery and rainy conditions for Sunday.

NiMet’s weather outlook for Saturday predicted cloudy condition with chances of thunderstorms over southern Borno, Katsina, Kano and Dutse axis of Northern States in the morning hours.

It predicted thunderstorms over Yelwa and Maiduguri axis later in the evening with day and night temperatures of 28 to 32 degree Celcius and 21 to 24 degree Celcius, respectively.

“For Central States, cloudy condition is anticipated with chances of thunderstorms over Yola axis in the morning hours.

“Later in the day, thunderstorms are expected over most parts of this region.

“Day and night temperature values are expected to be 29 to 31 degree Celsius and 21 to 24 degree Celsius except for Jos 25/16 degree Celsius,” it said.

NiMet focast cloudy conditions with chances of intermittent rains over Lagos axis of Southern States in the morning hours.

It envisaged continuous rains over the region during afternoon/evening hours with day and night temperatures of 27 to 30 degree Celcius and 20 to 23 degree Celsius, respectively.
