Lawmaker lays foundation for block of six classrooms in Badagry

Mr Setonji David, Member representing Badagry in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has embarked on the construction of a block of six classrooms at Ajara Comprehensive Senior High School in Badagry.

Speaking during the foundation laying ceremony of the project, Setonji said that primary and secondary school students in the area were struggling with inadequate infrastructure.

“Most of the schools don’t have enough classrooms, benches, desks and so on.

“It is disgusting and sad when you visit some of these schools and see students suffer under the rain in their classrooms

“So, I made up my mind to build these classrooms out of my allowance to demonstrate my passion for education,” the Badagry lawmaker said.

According to him, “education is the real passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today; an investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”

The Aholu of Ajara Agamathen, Aholu Agano Toniyon 1, commended the lawmaker for embarking on the project.

“This is the type of contribution that encourages members to nominate one for another term.

“You have done well and our ancestors will continue to guide you,” the Badagry monarch said.

The three monarchs in the area joined the lawmaker in laying the foundation for the block of six classrooms.

The event was witnessed by members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), traders and community leaders in the coastal town.
