Amotekun bill: Ondo Assembly resume session Monday

Members of the Ondo State House of Assembly will on Monday cut short their recess to resume legislative business.

This is to enable them deliberate on the security bill codenamed ‘Amotekun’ towards ensuring security across the nooks and crannies of the state.

The recall from the recess by the Speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun was contained in a statement by the Assembly Director of Information Services, Sehinde Fanokun.

The Lawmakers who are currently on recess are supposed to resume on February 24.

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu had forwarded the Security bill to the House of Assembly for legislative actions.

Also, a public hearing on the State security bill will hold tomorrow(Wednesday) at the House of Assembly complex.

It would draw contributions from members of the public on how best to fortify the operations of the ‘amotekun’ security network.

When operational the ‘amotekun’ security network is expected to among other things enhance security in the South West States of Nigeria.
