Seplat Petroleum coy donates items for management of COVID-19 to Edo Govt

The Seplat Petroleum Development Company on Wednesday in Benin, Edo, donated some items for the management of the COVID-19 to Edo Government.

Some of the items include: motorised sprayers, Knapsack sprayers, eye goggles, hands sanitisers, nose masks, temperature guns, chemical gloves and personal protective equipment.

In his speech, the Base Manager of Seplat, Mr Emmanuel Otokhine, said that the items were to provide support to Edo Government to contain the spread of Coronavirus pandemic in the state.

According to him, the gesture is to help the state government to up its ability to manage the global COVID-19 pandemic.

“We understand that the state government has put in place many measures in the fight against Coronavirus.

“We felt that we should give them this assistance. We understand that at the moment, personal protection equipment are in short supply, even if you placed order you won’t get.

“We are presenting some of these so that the personnel who are handling those confirmed cases and those who are going to test positive will require those equipment,” he said.

In his remarks, Edo Deputy Governor, Mr Philip Shaibu, who is also Chairman, Coronavirus Response Committee, thanked them for their contribution to support the state’s effort in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.

Shaibu called on other well meaning individuals to emulate the step taken by Seplat, saying that government alone could not do it, but with the support from individuals.
