NBS records decrease in price of national household kerosene in July

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), said the average price per litre paid by consumers for National Household Kerosene decreased from N279.67 in June to N276.87 in July.

The NBS disclosed this in its “National Household Kerosene Price Watch (July 2018)” report released on Tuesday in Abuja.

The report said the price of kerosene decreased by -1.00 per cent month-on-month and -1.29 per cent year-on-year in the month under review.

According to the report, states with the highest average price per litre of kerosene are Yobe (N310.00) , Nasarawa (N306.19), and Bayelsa (N304.72).

It listed states with the lowest average price per litre of kerosene to include Kogi (N238.89), Borno (N236.67) and Abia (N227.50).

“The average price per gallon paid by consumers for National Household Kerosene decreased by -0.41per cent month-on-month.

“The price increased by 1.76 per cent year-on-year to N1000.19 in July 2018, from N1004.29 in June 2018.

“States with the highest average price per gallon of kerosene are Borno (N1130.00), Jigawa (N1115.38) and Bauchi (N1070.00).

“Similarly, states with the lowest average price per litre of kerosene are Rivers (N921.05), Delta (N900.73) and Oyo (N900.59).
