Era of undermining Nigerian arts over — National Theatre GM

Prof. Sunday Ododo, General Manager, National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos on Friday said that the era of undermining Nigerian arts was over.

Ododo made the assertion during a training and sensitisation of film marketers and distributors, in Lagos.

The programme was organised by the National Films and Video Censors Board and Mr Bashiru Daudu, lawmaker representing Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency 1.

Ododo said that the nation had enough talents and population to grow the art industry, promising  that the new management of National Theatre would do everything it takes to project Nigerian arts.

He called on the creative industry’s practitioners to work with the National Theatre management to achieve the common goal of projecting the nation as the hub of entertainment and arts.

“The era of undermining our arts is over; we have the talents and number to uphold our arts, we need to cooperate with one another to achieve common goals.

“Here is an opportunity to connect with the vital part of the creative industry, I’m happy to meet you here.

“The National Theatre is our collective heritage and we must do everything to ensure it regains its lost glory and bring it up to date for your use.

“I’m excited that the people I will be working with years ahead are all here, our partnership is sure to unveil the new National Theatre.

” National Theatre is essentially created to generate wealth for the creative industry and the nation; we are going to provide conducive environment for you to display your arts.

“See me as one of you, and together we can make the new national theatre work well,” he said.
