House assures Air Force of better funding

The House of Representatives has assured the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) of adequate funding to enable it meet its obligations in view of modern security challenges.

Chairman of the House Committee on Air Force, Shehu Koko (APC, Kebbi), gave the assurance when he led other members of the committee on an oversight of the force.

The lawmaker praised the NAF leadership for combating crime and fighting insurgence, among other areas of insecurity.

He told the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Sadique Abubakar, that the House was impressed that the force had achieved so much with little resources, especially in capacity building, weapon development and research.

Koko assured the force that the House would support it to succeed in fighting crime.

“We are here on an assessment visit, just to ascertain the level of work done by the force and to commend the Nigeria Air Force for judiciously utilising the funds available to it. We have visited Borno, Benue, Kaduna, among others, and we have seen what you have done.”
