Lagos Airport Police Command gets new Commissioner

Mr Abubarka Umar Bature has been appointed the new Commissioner of Police for the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Command, Lagos.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Joseph Alabi, disclosed on Monday in Lagos that the new commissioner of police had assumed duty.

According to Alabi, Bature took over from Ndatsu Mohammed, who has been redeployed to the Enugu State Command as Commissioner of Police.

“The new police commissioner who arrived on Sunday, Jan. 17 at the command’s headquarters, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, was received by officers at the command.

“Bature has served in so many commands such as Deputy Commissioner (DC), Operations, Gombe State, Deputy Commissioner, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Ibadan, Deputy Commissioner, Administration, Plateau.

He said the the commissioner of police also served as the DC CID in Zamfara and DC, Katsina State Command.

“Bature was promoted as commissioner of police and was transferred to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport ommand to oversee all the airports in Nigeria.
