Lawmakers, APC chieftains rally support for first female Epe LG chairman

Some lawmakers and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains have solicited support for the newly sworn in first female chairman of Epe Local Government in Lagos State.

The APC leaders made the plea on Sunday in Epe at a victory party organized in honour of the new council chairman, Ms Surah Animashaun.

The female chairman was the daughter of Oloja of Epeland, Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun.

Mr Akanni Seriki-Bamu, a member of Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) in Lagos, urged the people of Epe to support the new council administration to succeed.

He said the support of the people would be of paramount importance to the attainment of her goals.

“She can’t do it alone, she needs the support of all and sundry.

“I pray that Epe community will experience development, progress, and advancement during her tenure,” he prayed.

Mr Wale Raji, lawmaker representing, Epe in the House of Representatives, advised the chairman to work collectively with everybody.

“Listen to advice but not to all advice; know your friends and keep them, not everybody that appear at this time are your friends but identify the true friends and work with them.

“Don’t run away from anybody, manage everybody because of the seat you occupy,” he advised.

He also advised the female chairman to run open door policy and all-inclusive governance.

“We the leaders will stand by you to succeed in your new office.

“Everybody should join hands with her to succeed. Her success should be our major concern and priority, “the lawmaker said.

Mr Abiodun Tobun, a member of Lagos State House of Assembly, urged the new chairman to take necessary decisions whenever the need arises.

He enjoined residents and party faithful to support the first female chairman to succeed in her tenure.

Earlier, Animashaun, had  pledged good governance for the people of Epe Division of Lagos State.
