Minister urges synergy among power sector stakeholders

The Minister of Power, Mr Abubakar Aliyu, has urged stakeholders in the power sector to synergise to give Nigerians a stable, affordable and constant electricity supply.

The minister stated this in a statement by Mr Austin Asoluka, Deputy Director, Press, Ministry of Power, in Abuja on Thursdays.

The minister stated this in an interactive session with the Distribution Companies (DISCOS) and the Generation Companies (GENCOs) in his office.

Aliyu said even though he is sent to the ministry to give policy directions and execute Government Mandate (Reforms) in the power sector, he was not going to do it all alone.

“Every stakeholder in the power sector should join hands together to execute this mandate.

“The work in the power sector is a chain, the whole value chain should not be broken …coming together, interacting interdependent with one another, and the result would be great,” he said.

The minister said he was extending his hands of fellowship to the stakeholders in the power sector.

He urged them to try and give back to the society what they deserve from the sector.

Aliyu said his office was open for any useful advice that can move the power sector forward.

The stakeholders pledged their loyalty and readiness to work with the Minister to achieve the desired reforms in the power sector.
