Colleagues, Festac Community in Lagos State and other stakeholders on Wednesday celebrated Mrs Adeola Adesokan, Passport Control Officer of Festac Passport Office of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), for efforts in improving service delivery.

At Adesokan’s sendoff ceremony, the colleagues, friends and Festac community members described her as a trail blazer.

“Within 12 months, she refurbished the entire structure of Festac Passport Office.

“She built VIP lounges, attracted stakeholders to the office, fixed electricity, provided comfortable rooms for personnel.

“Even when she received the clarion call to serve at the service headquarters, she ensured that the servicom unit, where applicants’ complaints would be treated, was structured.

Construction and re-construction continued unabated until this moment, “ Musa, a Controller of Immigration,  said.

She said that Adesokan ensured that officers in the Festac Passport Office were developed through training.

“She rolled out a robust human capital development programme, ensuring professional and global best practices to enhance service delivery,” Musa said.

“I find it difficult to release her, she is really a good team leader,” she said.

The Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, Mr Valentine Buraimoh, described Adesokan as amazing in service delivery.

“She was able to eradicate the bottlenecks Lagos applicants used to experience in Festac Passport Office.

“To our stakeholders, NIS cannot thank you enough – from the host community to sister agencies, the media and corporate organisations.

“NIS is proud of the synergy and corporate social responsibly.

“This success story will be incomplete without recognising the guardians – outgone Controller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Mr Mohammed Babandede, and the Acting Controller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Mr Idris Jere,” she said.
