Goalkeeper Ikeme says he is recuperating from Leukaemia

Nigeria’s first choice goalkeeper Carl Ikeme, says he is recuperating from Leukaemia, an illness that has  kept him away from action for more than a year.

The Wolverhampton Wanderers goal tender took to his Twitter handle @carl_Ikeme to share his good news.

“After a year of intense chemotherapy I would like to share that I am in complete REMISSION.I still have hurdles to pass to be cured, but hopefully I can move on with some normality.

“I would like to thank everyone for the support over the past year. Thank you.️ #Grateful,” he tweeted.

Ikeme is named Nigeria’s 24th player at the Russia 2018 World Cup.
