Lawmaker promises more community-based projects to alleviate people’s sufferings

By Aliyu DANLADI

A lawmaker representing Apapa Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mrs. Mojisola Meranda, on Sunday promised more community-based projects to alleviate sufferings of people of the area.

Meranda made the promise in Lagos at the end of a four-day Free Health Mission.

The health mission tagged: “Healthy Citizens Make a Healthy Community’’ was organised by Mo’care Meranda Charity Foundation.

According to her, the health mission is a way of showing appreciation to my people for their support and to ask for their continue support to enable me to deliver more democratic dividends.

“I promise to continue to give my people more community-based projects to alleviate the difficulties facing them as a way of showing my appreciation to them.

“All I am asking from them is to continue to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) so that more dividends of democracy can reach them. The state government needs prayers and support to succeed and achieve growth and speedy development.

“This government has done a lot by initiating policies and projects that had impacted positively on the lives of the people of the state,’’ Meranda said.

She expressed satisfaction over the large turnout of residents for the programme. “As you can see, we have been able to attend to a total of 2, 100 people with various ailments. The first two days at Apapa Amusement Park, we attended to 450 people per day.

“For the remaining two days of the medical mission at Ijora, no fewer than 600 people attended the programme daily. All these were made possible because my people turn out for the health programme,’’ Meranda said.

TBI Africa reports that the free health services included consultation and treatment for common ailments like hypertension, diabetes, free eye glasses and dental care, among others.
