By Aliyu DANLADI

A governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Dr Olusola Ayandele, has promised that youths and women would get 60 per cent representation in his cabinet, if elected.

Addressing All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Igboho town, Ayandele said inclusion of youths and women would engender a sense of belonging to participate in decision-making processes.

“Youths and women constitute the largest percentage of the nation’s population. They deserve to participate actively in decision-making.

“My vision is to empower the youths, create employment opportunities and strengthen the state’s economy through support for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs),” he said.

The APC governorship aspirant noted that the state was endowed with extensive solid minerals and arable land, promising to bring the state’s distinctive natural assets into productive utilisation.

Ayandele also pledged to put in place institutions that would lay solid foundation for effective and efficient public service towards making the state financially and economically viable.

He called on party members to give him their support, promising to embark on people-oriented programmes towards enhancing their standard of living.

“Gov. Abiola Ajimobi has laid the foundation and raised the bar of good governance in Oyo State. Ours is to sustain and build upon his legacies,” he said.

Chief Ademola Ojo, the Director-General of his campaign organisation, described Ayandele as a man with so much passion for women and youths.

“Ayandele is a resourceful and intelligent personality. He has established array of businesses, among which is Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC)

Ayandele had earlier addressed supporters from Saki East, Saki West and ATISBO Local Government Areas of the state at Tede town.

TBI Africa reports that the governorship aspirant, who hails from Idere in Ibarapa Central Local Government Area of Oyo State, is a Quantity Surveyor and a renowned entrepreneur.

Ayandele is among the 13 APC gubernatorial aspirants that have declared interest in contesting the Oyo governorship seat.
