The police on Monday arraigned Sunday Oladeyekun, a truck driver  and his assistant Lateef Olowokere, (motor boy), for allegedly stealing 70 litres of diesel valued at N16,000 property of Dangote Oil Refinery in a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court

Oladeyekun, 42, who resides at No. 27, Aino St., Ibandan and Olowokere, 27, who resides in Ajegunle, Lagos, are facing two counts of conspiracy and theft.

The prosecutor, ASP Fidelis Dike told the court that the two committed the offence on Sept 20 at 2 a.m. at Dangote Oil Refinery, Lagos.

He alleged that the truck driver and his motor boy were apprehended by a security guard while they were stealing the diesel from a truck parked in the premises of the plant.

The offence, the prosecution said, contravened sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 which stipulates three years and two years imprisonment respectively for offenders.

After the charges were read to Oladeyekun and Olowokere, they pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, Mr Omolaja Kazeem, admitted the accursed persons to bail in the sum of N5,000 with two sureties  each in like sum.

Kazeem ordered that the sureties must be responsible and gainfully employed.

He adjourned the case until Nov. 22 for mention.
