Ogun 2019: Young professionals launch support group for APC governorship candidate

By Kunle SHONUGA

A group of young professionals on Saturday launched a platform to rally support for the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun, Mr Dapo Abiodun.

The group, under the aegis of Dapo Abiodun Alliance Group (DAAG) in Abeokuta promised to embark on massive enlightenment campaign to the electorate and ensure Abiodun emerges the next governor of the state.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, it convener Mr Lanre Alfred, said that the group comprised young professionals drawn from diverse backgrounds.

He said DAAG had the sole mandate of propagating the ideals and visions of Abiodun as well as APC ahead of the general elections.

He described the group as self-funded and a non-profit making venture with the capacity to move across the state and sell APC and the candidate.

He described Abiodun as “A person with character, competence, local and international connections and vision to take the state forward.

“For us to have to have come together to form this group, it underscores the unanimity of our belief that Abiodun’s entrepreneurial successes and strong commitment to good governance will make him governor.

“It is on this reason that DAAG, undertakes to galvanise and mobilise human and material resources for him across the length and breadth of the state to achieve success in 2019,” Alfred said.

Spokesperson of DAAG, Mr Victor Ganzallo, explained that not all members of the group were from Ogun or card carrying members of APC.

He said majority of them were successful professionals united by a shared reverence for the inspirational leadership of the governorship candidate.

He said the group would soon unveil some of its programmes and plans, urging Ogun residents to vote for Abiodun and APC during general elections.
