Epe LG to reconstruct roads, drainage to boost development

In a bid to improve infrastructure development in the community, Epe Local Government Area of Lagos state says it is set to embark on the reconstruction of roads and drainage across the city.

The Chairman of the council Mr Adedoyin Adesanya, disclosed this in Epe on Wednesday.

He said that the development became necessary to ease the suffering of motorists plying the bad roadsn in the area.

The chairman said: “Also, the reconstruction of the drainage will ensure free flow of water/erosion, from source to its destination.

“We will ensure that all refuse dumps in the drainage are packed for easy movement of erosion.

“Also, the bad roads will be reconstructed to reduce traffic in the area,” he said.

Adesanya mentioned the major street to embark upon as: Aiyetutu, Jimoh Olakunle roads and drainage within the community.

He said that the council had instructed the Department of Roads/Works to assess the proposed projects and immediately commence the reconstruction of the affected roads and drainage.

Adesanya solicited the support of residents to ensure the success of the project.

“The development of the community and better living standard of residents and communities remain paramount to me.”
