Lagos gridlock: PPC to ease problem with railway from Apapa to Berger — Female guber Candidate

By Thompson ABISOLA

The Providence People’s Congress (PPC) governorship candidate in Lagos State,  Mrs Omolara Adesanya, says the party will construct a railway line from Apapa to Berger to ease the perennial gridlock in the state, if voted into power in 2019.

Adesanya, a Chartered Accountant said on Friday in Lagos that if the people of Lagos want integrity and real development commensurate with the state’s resources, the PPC candidates should be their choice in the coming elections.

“We are ready and we are working to rescue the people of Lagos State,” said the retired staff of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

“If the people of Lagos want real, positive and progressive change, let them install a government that will keep its words and be fully committed to community development.

“’PPC will redirect traffic, especially for tankers and trailers on the roads by constructing a rail line from Apapa Wharf to Berger and we will have a dry port there.

“’So, when the tankers leave Apapa, they offload at the dry port at Berger. This will create more jobs and reduce traffic congestion on our roads.

“We will also construct a central park for the trucks and there will be a schedule for the trucks to go to Apapa turn-by-turn, and we will have a helicopter to monitor this.”

Adesanya said that the party would also provide water taxis to aid the movement of people on the waterways to reduce congestion on the road.

She said the PPC government would provide more BRT buses with a definite schedule of arrival and departure at the terminals to avoid people waiting endlessly at the bus stops.

According to her, Lagos residents shall not continue to suffer in the hands of APC, but choose the party whose goal is the people.

“I don’t think the people of Lagos are ready to continue to be in poverty, this is why I have put myself forward to serve, as there is still a lot to be done for the people, ” she said.

Adesanya said that the party had embarked on door-to-door campaign to educate and change the mindset of people on electioneering to prevent apathy.

Also, Mr Austine Ituwe, PPC candidate for Oshodi -Isolo Federal Constituency ll, Lagos State, in the 2019 polls, promised to bring rapid development to the area through effective legislative intervention.

Ituwe urged the people of his constituency to support and vote in PPC to serve and represent them better.

“PPC is the best alternative for Lagos residents. We will deliver and make an unforgettable difference in governance.

“Our party will lead by example, we will demonstrate good governance and strong will to undertake change programmes that will enhance higher quality of life for the residents,” he said.
