The 2019 Appropriation Bill recorded a significant progress on the floor of the House of Representatives, at Tuesday’s plenary as lawmakers concluded debate on the general principles.

After the bill scaled through second reading, the Speaker, Mr Yakubu Dogara, said it would be committed to the Committee on Appropriation, with all standing committees as sub committees.

By this development, Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) are expected to start appearing for budget defence before various house committees.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on Dec. 18, presented a budget of N8.83 trillion to National Assembly for consideration.

The budget is made up of N4.04 trillion recurrent expenditure and N2.031 trillion capital expenditure.—-NAN
