Ogun 2019: ACOMORAN endorses Kashamu

By Meletus EZE

The Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN) in Ogun has endorsed Prince Buruji Kashamu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the upcoming polls.

The endorsement came on Thursday during a meeting between Kashamu and the leadership of ACOMORAN in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun, where the candidate was also conferred the award of National Patron of the association.

Alhaji Lateef Yekini, Ogun ACOMORAN Chairman, said at the forum that the governorship candidate would get some 64,000 votes from members of the association in the state.

Giving reasons for the association’s position, Yekini said: “We conducted our findings and discovered that Kashamu will not embezzle public funds.

“We have a common interest in the development of the state, hence our support for you”.

The ACOMORAN chairman said that the association observed that the candidate would not impose his people on the organisation but would work with the existing structure.

Yekini also noted that Kashamu’s manifesto showed that he had plans to transform the state and take it to its next level of development.

Alhaji Muhammed Isa, ACOMORAN National Financial Secretary, who represented the national president, presented the National Patron award to Kashamu.

Responding, Kashamu said he accepted the award because, after listening to them, he was sure that all they demanded was good representation devoid of injustice.

“So, I accept this award as a man of justice, to help all members of ACOMORAN get what befits them in the socio-economic structure of the state.

“I do not want you to be involved in violence. If you get involved in violence, I will back out. But if your rights are being violated, count on my support.

“As a token of my appreciation to you for this award and your support, I will donate 10 motorcycles to your association,” he said.

Kashamu, who is a serving senator representing Ogun-East at the National Assembly, assured the body that under his watch, Ogun State would be greater than ever.

“We will eradicate poverty, we will empower small businesses, we will revitalise our education system and invigorate the healthcare system.

“We are going to make Ogun State great. You can count on that,” he said.——NAN
