“US” debuts at No 1 at US box office

“US”, a horror movie directed by Jordan Pelee, debuted on the United State Box Office, grossing $71.1 million

TBI Africa said that the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Jordan Pelle was also the director of the hit horror movie “Get Out” which earned him an Academy award.

The Internet Movie Database (IMDB) said that “Captain Marvel” which has being on the top of the chart for two weeks, came in at second place, grossing $34.2 million.

IMDB said “Wonder Park” and “Five Feet Apart” came in at third and fourth, grossing $8.8 million and $8.5 million, respectively.

“How to Train Your Dragon: Hidden World’ raked in $6.5 million while “A Madea Family Funeral’ and “No Manches Frida 2” grossed in $4.5million and $1.8 million, respectively.

It listed other movies that made up the top 10 to include “Gloria Bell”, “The Lego Movie 2” and “Alita: Battle Angel” which occupied the eighth, ninth and tenth positions.

U.S. box office is the revenue generated by a film while in theatres.

The records are for the United States and Canada together, a market known as the North American box office and domestic box office and where gross is defined in US dollars.
