British Airways trains 45 Northern partners on service offerings

The British Airways (BA)  has trained 45 of its partners  from Northern Nigeria on service offerings and familiarized  them with the airline’s general market.

TBI Africa.com quoted Tiarhan Oghenejode of Quadrant MSL, the agency that handles the media activities of the airline, made this known  in a press statement she made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Wednesday.

She also said that the airline gave awards to some of its partners as a way of recognizing their contributions.

Oghenejode quoted Mr Kola Olayinka, British Airways’ Regional Commercial Manager for West Africa to have performed the two-in-one event during a workshop in Abuja.

Olayinka was quoted as saying that the workshop was attended by 45 managers and directors from various travel agencies.

The regional commercial manager also explained that the joint event was to strengthen the airline’s relationship with its northern partners.

He also used the event to intimate the travel agencies’ stakeholders about its products like: Group booking process, ticketing process, dual inventory fares (DIF) and sales’ hubs.

He added that it was also to recognise and appreciate some of their agents who had performed well in the Northern part of Nigeria in Year 2018.

” At British Airways, we value the relationships we have with our trade partners.

“This workshop gave us the opportunity to engage them one on one, giving them an in-depth look into our various products and how they can make the best use of them.

“It also gave us a chance to create an avenue for constructive discussions and interactions,” he said.

Olayinka said that the award segment had six categories, recognising the best performing travel agents and highest selling travel agent to London in 2018, which went to Jireh Travels and Tours Ltd.

“The most professional travel agent in 2018 also went to Topaz Travels and Tours Ltd., while Splash Land Travels and Tours bagged the most improved travel agent in 2018.

“The highest selling travel agent to North Atlantic in 2018 went to Hinterland Travels and Tours Ltd., and Ibbsa Travels and Tours Ltd., got the most promising agent in 2019.

“It was also an opportunity for a lucky trade partner to win a business class ticket to London and the winner was Jireh Travels and Tours Ltd,” he said.

Oghenedoje also quoted Olayinka to have said that the British Airways was committed to fostering efforts capable of  driving partnership with its trade partners.

He said that they constituted the downstream of the aviation sector in the country and an integral collaborator in ensuring positive consumer experience.
