While commending the organisers of the race for their ability in sustaining the annual event for seven years running, Okunbor said the race had capacity to boost the economy of communities around the area and Edo in general.

He, however, urged the organisers to ensure that there was improvement in the next edition of the race, as the tournament aimed to achieve the Gold Label status.

“Everywhere they do marathon, the economy of the place bubbles and with little time this community will benefit immensely.

“It is something I believe that we should all built together. Personally, I love sports; whatever opportunity I have, I support sports.”

Also, the Managing Director, Wells Carlton & Apartment, Juergen Odenwald, said that as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibilities, the management had decided to support sports development.

“Since we are into business that delivers excellence in the hospitality sector, we feel we can also deliver excellence in sports by promoting it.

“Wells Carlton is a baby of Captain Hosa. It is his initiative to support this activity,” he said.===NAN
