Senate confirms Alasoadura, others as ministers

 

The Senate has confirmed Tayo Alasoadura, Mustapha Shehuri, Abubakar Aliyu, and Bashir Magashi as ministers.

They were screened on Thursday after 10 others had been confirmed on Wednesday.

Alasoadura from Ondo State is a former federal lawmaker. Shehuri from Borno is the immediate past Minister of State of Works, Power and Housing, and a former member of the House of Representatives.

Aliyu was deputy governor of Yobe State between 2009 and 2019.

Magashi from Kano State is a former ECOMOG field commander.

The Senate unanimously waved some of its rules on the screening of Alasoadura and Shehuri who were once in the National Assembly.

Those undergoing screening include Niyi Adebayo from Ekiti, Sunday Dare from Oyo, Timipre Sylva from Bayelsa, and Mohammed Abdullahi from Nassarawa.
