Eid-el-Kabir: Cleric urges Muslims to embrace moderation in celebration

A cleric and Balogun Adeen of Osun, Alhaji Ibikunle Lawal, has urged Muslim faithful to embrace moderation in the celebration of the Eid-el-Kabir.

Lawal made  the plea in an interview on Wednesday in Ile-Ife.

According to him, some people deceive themselves by attempting to overreach their capacities in celebrating the festival,.

This, he said, was not acceptable to Prophet Mohammed.

Lawal also urged Muslims to purchase rams they could afford so as not to incur debts because of the celebration.

He further appealed to all Muslims to be prudent during the festival and refrain from competing with others.
