NCWS tasks FG on completion of Lagos-Ibadan expressway

The National Council for Women Societies (NCWS) has called on the Federal Government to expedite action on the completion of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway as the Muslims celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir.

The National President of the council, Mrs Gloria Shoda, in a goodwill message to mark the Eid-el-Kabir said the completion of the road would alleviate the suffering of the people.

“I feel the pains my people are going through daily on Lagos-Badagry Expressway, and the Federal Government has directed contractor handling the project to start palliative measure in order to make the road easier to ply by commuters.

“I am very optimistic that with our collective efforts, these challenges are surmountable, and we will soon overcome them,” she said.

On the Sallah celebration, Shoda described Islam as a religion that upholds the spirit of love, peace and charity.

She urged Muslims to uphold their obedience to God in the spirit of forgiveness for one another, as well as continue harmonious living relationship with adherents of other faiths.

She also called on them to expand the spiritual benefits of Sallah by ensuring and promoting peaceful co-existence with each other and with people of other faiths
