Vendors submit N17.5 million unwholesome products to NAFDAC

Mr Gonzuk Nyor, the State Coordinator of NAFDAC, disclosed on Thursday in Gombe.

He said the success recorded was as a result of understanding between the agency and all stakeholders in the state.
“In March the association willingly submitted unwholesome products worth over N5.5 million and in August they also submitted another products that cost about N12 million.
“This is an effort following our enlightenment campaign creating awareness, telling them the health consequences of giving those kind of products to people,” the coordinator said.
According to him, the products were retrieved from the state capital and some villages in the state by the association.
He added that if the products were still in circulation, people who are ignorant will keep buying them.
Nyor also called on traders and fruit sellers to desist from selling expired products to customers and artificial ripening of fruits because of their health hazards.
