Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State on Tuesday presented a cheque of N10 million to the family of  Remilekun Arogundade, an officer of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) who was crushed to death by a trailer.

Sanwo-Olu, represented by his Special Adviser on Transportation, Mr Oluwatoyin Fayinka,  presented the cheque to the family of deceased at the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, Alausa, Ikeja.

The deceased  was controlling traffic when a trailer reversed and crushed her to death on May 26 at Apapa area of Lagos.

Presenting the cheque to Oyebade, the husband of the deceased, Sanwo-Olu said that the token was to cater for her family.

The governor said that he had led a team on condolence visit to the family moments after her demise and promised compensation.

Sanwo-Olu said that the compensation was a fulfillment of the promise made to the family when he visited them.

“The family she left behind, especially the child, must be adequately taken care of,” he said.
