Yuletide: Lagos lawmaker preaches peace, love for national unity

A Lagos lawmaker, Mr Gholahan Yishawu, has urged Nigerians, especially Lagosians, to pursue peace and love for national unity.

Yishawu, representing Eti-Osa II in the Lagos House of Assembly, made he call in his Christmas mesage in Lagos on Tuesday.

He said Nigerians should  desist from any act that could set the nation in jeopardy.

While felicitating with Christians, Yishawu urged  religious leaders not to relent in preaching messsages that would transform the lives of people and the nation.

He urged Nigerians not to be carried away by the merriments of Christmas but to imbibe the teachings of the season.

The lawmaker, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Budget and Economic Planning, said the season should be the time for sober reflection and self examination.

He said: “Nigerians should not see this festive period as a time to wine and dine alone, but to see how to toe the path of righteousness.

“If we all adhere strictly to the law, Nigeria will be a suitable place for all to live,” he said.

The lawmaker urged people to be security conscious while traveling to see their loved ones.

He said government would not relent in ensuring good governance.

“I wish the good people of my Constituency, Lagosians and Nigerians a very merry Christmas and a prosperous year 2020,” he said
