The World Bank has approved a 250 million dollars fund for various developmental projects in Ogun.

This is contained in a statement in Abeokuta on Wednesday by Special Adviser to Gov. Dapo Abiodun on Public Communications, Mr Remmy Hazzan.

According to Hazzan, the World Bank approval is the outcome of various interactions between Abiodun and officials of the bank, during which the governor was able to discuss his economic blueprint and development road-map for the state.

He said that the governor was able to convince officials of the Bank that he would see to the judicious application of the fund with the developmental programnes already earmarked for execution in various parts of the state.

“Ogun is one of the six projects approved by the world financial institution to support development priorities across the country.

“It includes improving immunisation, enabling a stronger business environment for the private sector, expanding the digital economy to promote job creation and increasing public and private sector capacity on governance and environmental safeguards.

“It will be recalled that among other steps to demonstrate commitment, Abiodun had to provide offices for the World Bank on the governors’ floor right after he was sworn in to underscore the premium placed on the partnership with the bank,” he said.

Hazzan stated that the governor expressed gratitude to the bank for the confidence reposed on his administration, promising to ensure efficient utilisation of the fund
