Igbosere High Court Paralayse Due to Power Outage

Activities at the Lagos High Court sitting in Igbosere, were today grounded due to power outage in the court.

The courts which is usually very busy and commences proceedings at 9a.m, could not sit as all the courts were in total darkness.

Lawyers and litigants were seen going out of the court premises due to the power outages.

The situation however prompted the court to adjourn the cases as they could not be heard due to the darkness.

When our Correspondent asked Lawyers and some court registrars why there was power outage in the courts, they said that the generator which powers the court was bad and that it was being repaired.

Meanwhile after looking round the courts, our Correspondent observed that one of the courts still had its proceedings in the dark.

Justice Mobolanle Okikiolu- Ighile, was seen, presiding over cases in her court, with the use of a rechargeable light, while her registrar used the touch light of her phone to call the cases before the court.

Lawyers in the court room, all removed their wigs so they could get some air, but the court room was still very hot as they were fanning themselves with books and piece of paper.

Other lawyers whose cases were yet to be called, were seen going out of the court room to receive some fresh air.

Although the two doors of the court room, were opened, but it was still very hot as litigants were cleaning their faces with handkerchief while those who couldn’t stand the heat went out.
