Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) says it has acquired four additional 33KV cables to boost service delivery within its coverage areas.
Mr Godwin Idemudia, EKEDC General Manager, Corporate Affairs, said in a statement on Friday in Lagos that the cable would be laid from its Alagbon Transmission Substation to Ademola injection substation.
According to him, it will boost the Victoria Island environment under its coverage network with additional 26MW of electricity.
He revealed that the power would also be used to feed Oniru, a high-growing area, with a double supply arrangement.
“The equipment will greatly improve the availability and reliability of supply within the Victoria Island axis and Oniru area under our network,” Idemudia said.
He reiterated the company’s determination to ensure that the energy demands of its customers were met during the period of lockdown.
Idemudia said the company was constantly rerouting supply to residential areas where they were mostly needed at this time.
He said: “We will continue to do everything possible to support remote working during this time.
“We understand that power is critical to productivity, we assure our customers that we would continue to put in place necessary measures to ensure the stability of supply throughout this period,” the statement concluded.
