The Lagos Government on Thursday said it had discharged seven more patients from the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu disclosed this via his verified twitter handle @jidesanwoolu.
He said, “Good people of Lagos, I bring you awesome news from the IDH, Yaba, which is as a testament to our resolve to overcome the lethal #COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the world.
“Today, we discharged seven more patients who have fully recovered and tested negative twice consecutively for #COVID19.
“This brings to 39 the number of discharged patients in Lagos.
“The patients include one female and six males; three of the discharged male patients are foreign nationals — two Ukrainians and one Italian.”
LAGOS commences house-to-house search for COVID-19 patients
Also, the state government said it had commenced a house-to-house case identification to detect possible cases of COVID-19 in the state.
The state Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, disclosed this on Thursday during a joint ministerial press briefing on COVID-19 intervention in the state.
He said that the COVID-19 case identification campaign tagged the ‘Community Active Case Search’ commenced on Monday and would last for two weeks in the first instance across the state.
Abayomi explained that health workers would move from house to house and health facilities in pairs to administer electronic questionnaires on citizens. He said people would be asked questions on COVID-19 symptoms.
He said the officials carrying out the exercise could be identified with the COVID-19 outbreak response tags and letters from a local government in the state.
The commissioner said, “In the coming days, some of our health workers will be moving around in pairs to administer an electronic questionnaire at homes and healthcare facilities to make enquiries about symptoms of cough, cold and fever.
“This is in a bid to intensify our search for possible cases of COVID19 in different communities across the state. I implore you to give them your maximum support by providing accurate information that would help in containing this pandemic quickly.”
