IG redeploys Rivers police commissioner

The Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Adamu, has ordered the immediate redeployment of Rivers State Police Commissioner, Dandaura Mustapha.

This was contained in a statement on Friday signed by Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba.

Joseph Gobum Mukan replaces Mustapha as the new Police Commissioner in Rivers State.

According to the statement, Mustapha now occupies a new office as the Commissioner of Police, Provost, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Also, Musa Adze was posted as the new Commissioner of Police, Anti-Fraud Unit, FHQ, Abuja.

The IG charged the affected commissioners to “diligently and professionally” discharge their duties in their new areas of responsibilities while noting that their posting and redeployment was with immediate effect.

TBI  Africa had reported a few hours ago that Mustapha led a team of security operatives to intercept and detain over 20 oil workers providing essential service in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

TBI Africa had also reported that Governor Nyesom Wike and the redeployed commissioner had arrested two Caverton Helicopters’ pilots on essential duty amid the coronavirus lockdown and restriction of movement in the state.
