The Lagos State Government has quarantined 53 Nigerian returnees from Ghana and other West African countries.
The individuals, comprising 39 returnees from Ghana and 14 from different West African countries, were camped in the Badagry area of the state.
Disclosing this to our correspondent in Abuja on Sunday, the Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, in a WhatsApp message, said the state government took up the cost of their quarantine, including lodging and feeding.
She said, “Thirty-nine returnees from Ghana, plus 14 more from other West African nations are now in Badagry, Lagos. They have begun their 14-day compulsory isolation. All their quarantine expenses paid for by Governor of Lagos State, Jide Sanwo-Olu.”
Meanwhile, the Nasarawa State Government has expressed its appreciation to the Federal Road Safety Corps for deploying two additional life support ambulances with a team of personnel in the state.
The equipment was presented to the state government in Lafia on Friday.
It described the gesture as a positive boost to the state’s capacity and efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
The Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, in a statement said the state government lauded the FRSC in a letter signed by the Commissioner for Health, Ahmed Yahaya.
