Buhari eulogises Clark at 93, Soun at 94

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged elder statesman and leader of the Ijaw nation, Chief Edwin Clark, to continue to work for the cohesion of Nigeria.

He also congratulated the Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi (Ajagungbade III), on clocking 94 years of age.

A statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, said: “President Muhammadu Buhari felicitates with elder statesman, Niger Delta Leader, and former Minister of Information, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, as he turns 93.

“The President gives glory to God for the gift of long life and sound mind bestowed on Chief Clark, noting that he continues to command the respect and admiration of Nigerians from different walks of life.”

The President rejoiced with the Soun of Ogbomoso, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina.

The statement said: “President Buhari rejoices with Oba Oyewumi …as he turns 94 on May 27, 2020.

“The President says the almost five-decade reign of the monarch has witnessed peace, prosperity and development, with natives and settlers alike in Ogbomoso enjoying the amity that has attended the time of the respected Oba.”
