An Indonesian aircraft with more than 50 people on board has gone missing after take-off from Jakarta.
BBC News is reporting that the Sriwijaya Air Boeing 737-500, PK-CLC (c/n 27323) took off from the capital just after 7.30am UTC.
According to flight-tracking website Flightradar24, the jet lost more than 10,000ft of altitude in less than one minute, about four minutes after departure.
The flight – SJ182 – was a connection between the Indonesian capital and Supadio International Airport near Pontianak.
The 27-year-old airframe has been in the carrier’s fleet since 2012 and previously saw service with Continental and United Airlines.
