Minister condemns abduction of schoolgirls in Zamfara

Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, has condemned the  abduction of female students of the Government Girls  Secondary School, Jangebe in Talata  Mafara, Zamfara.

Farouq in a statement on Friday in Abuja issued by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry , Alhaji Bashir Alkali and signed by the Deputy Director of Information, Mrs Rhoda Iliya, described the act as inhuman and traumatic.

The minister said the abduction happened barely few weeks after  terrorists abducted students of Government Science College, Kagara in Niger.

Farouq expressed concern over the frequent abduction of innocent schoolchildren in the country.

“I stand  in solidarity with  the parents and guardians of the children and pray for their safety and immediate release,” she said

She assured the parents of Federal Government’s determination in securing the safe release of their children.
