France to support Nigeria’s creative industry

The French Minister for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, Mr Franck Riester, has said the French government will support Nigeria through its foreign policy in supporting cultural and creative industries in partner countries.

 A statement titled ‘French minister delegate for foreign trade & economic attractiveness visits AIM Group to boost Nigeria-France relationship’, said he spoke during his official visit to the AIM Group as part of his first official visit to Nigeria to foster intra-cultural relationship between France and Nigeria.

 He said this would be through set-up like the ‘Solidarity fund for innovative projects’, which made it possible to establish sustainable assistance for many cultural projects geared towards creating employment opportunities and economic development. 

The statement said Riester acknowledged the resilient spirit of the new generation of Nigerians who despite the COVID-19 pandemic had continued to dominate the music and movie production segment.

 s, impressive international successes, and global commendations as Nigerian cinema and music industry have grown to become an inspiration to other countries.

 Speaking during the Visit, Co-founder, Wazobia Media, a subsidiary of the AIM Group, Tatiana Nouri, expressed gratitude to the French minister for the support from the French government through capacity building initiatives.

 He said , which would positively impact the continued growth of the Nigerian creative industry and further strengthen the ties between Nigeria and France.
