Abdulwahid Islamic Foundation sets for Annual Ramadan Lecture, Special Prayers for Nation

The Abdulwahid Islamic Foundation on Monday said it had concluded arrangements to host the 2021 Ramadan lecture and Special prayers for the nation on April 24 and April 25.

The foundation, in a statement by its President and General Secretary, Mr Ishaq Alabi and Mr Razaq Aderibigbe, respectively said that the event would also included free medical services and distribution of food items.

The statement said that the event was also put together to guide and admonish parents as one the core trainers of future leaders.

It said: “We want parents to set out as role models and also come together as a community to uphold common interests by caring for the indigents in the neighbourhood.

“The annual Ramadan programme will be preceded by a free medical service on Saturday, April 24, at Agboyi-Ketu LCDA Secretariat, Agboyi Road, Alapere-Ketu, Lagos by 10am.

“The medical programme and other activities are supported by Drugfield Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, the Executive Chairman of Agboyi Ketu LCD and Succour Foundation.

“The Annual Ramadan lecture will be held on Sunday April 25, 2021 under the chairmanship of Hon. Yacoob Ekundayo Bush-Alebiosu , A former House of Representative Member and the Otunba Fuwagbuyi of Ijebu Land.”

It said that the Guest Speaker, Shaykh Abdur-Razaq Abdul Malik, would be speaking on the theme “Re-Positioning the Family for National Development: Raising Positive Kids Through Responsible Parenting”.

The statement said that other speakers include  Mr Waheed Ishola, Director, National Orientation Agency, Lagos State, and Mr. Ishaq Lanre-Lawal, Safety and Security Consultant and Managing Director, Livewire Ltd.

It said that the Ramadan Lecture and Special Prayer for the Nation would take place on Sunday, at Tamroyal Multi-purpose Hall, Ajibola Crescent, Alapere-Ketu, Lagos State by 10 am.

The statement stated that this year’s event would be held in strict compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines and protocols.

It said that the Year 2020 lecture could not hold due to the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus pandemic and it was substituted with the distribution of relief materials.

The  statement enjoined all Muslim faithful  to seize the opportunity of the 30-day Ramadan period to offer prayers to the Almighty God for complete restoration of the Nation.

It encouraged Muslims in the state to be considerate of the needy around them by sharing out of the abundance given to them the Almighty Allah.

The statement added that the Ramadan lecture  would feature discussions of germane topics by seasoned Islamic scholars.

It said that  the topics were considered helpful in the areas of prayers and other spiritual issues throughout the period of the fast.

It said that dignitaries expected at the event to grace the occasion include, a legal practitioner, Sharaphardeen  Idowu, Managing Partner, Braintree Solicitors, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, the Executive Chairman Agboyi-Ketu LCDA and Mr Saheed Babafemi, Member Kosofe Constituency 2, Lagos House of Assembly.

Others are: Ganiyu Okanlawon, member Kosofe Constituency 1, Lagos House of Assembly, Princess Samiat Bada, the Executive Chairman, Ikosi-Isher LCDA, Sheikh AbdulRafi’I Babatunde Awwal and other Muslim clerics.
