NYSC coordinator charges corps members to be diligent in service

Mr Eddy Megwa, the Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Lagos State, has advised corps members in the state to be diligent in their places of primary assignment.

Megwa gave the advice during the closing ceremony of the 2021 Batch B, Stream 1, orientation course for corps members at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos.

2, 122 Corps Members participated in the three weeks orientation course.

“We expect you to show good character, integrity and comport yourselves as you move into the larger society of Lagos. Ensure you make your institutions and NYSC proud,” he said.

Megwa, who also said that the corps members were COVID-19 free after undergoing the necessary test, advised them to continuously observe the COVID-19 protocols to sustain their status.

“My heart is filled with joy and I am delighted to declare that these corps members are leaving the orientation camp healthy, that is to say they are COVID-19 free,” he said.

According to him, the corps members performed credibly well during the exercise.

Megwa advised them to embrace the culture of their host community and conduct themselves in good manner.

He, however, warned the corps members against travelling outside the state without official permission, adding that they should avoid night travels.

“You shown by results that you are ready to take Nigeria to the next level, so today it’s my pleasure to usher you into the mainstream of Lagos society.

“And to Lagos people, these corps members are fully ready to add their own quota into the socio-economic development of Lagos State, so I urge you to give them maximum cooperation,” Megwa said.

He commended Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for supporting the NYSC, particularly for providing enabling environment to achieve a successful programme.
