Standards Organisation of Nigeria, Ogun State chapter, has said it will not relent in its fight against substandard lubricants but will continue to intensify efforts to prosecute criminals involved in acts of counterfeiting and cloning of products.
A statement said, the Director-General/ Chief Executive, Farouk Salime, said this at the one-day sensitisation workshop for the lubricant industry in Ogun State.
According to him, only lubricants certified by the organisation should be manufactured or patronised in the country.
He advised that conformity to standards must always be the watchword of manufacturers and importers of lubricants.
Salim stated the need for producers and dealers to always conform to the requirements of the standard to prevent debilitating wastage and failure costs associated with the use of substandard lubricants in automobiles and industrial machinery.

The Special Assistant to the Director-General, Emeka Duru, in his remarks, stated that through the implementation of all the requirements stipulated in the Nigerian Industrial Standards, manufacturers and importers would not have problems with SON and their products which would make their products compete favourably in the local and international markets
He added that the organisation would go through great lengths to support such businesses.
