Firm unveils mobile app for cooking gas delivery

Smart Gas, a technology firm operating in the downstream sector, says it has launched a mobile app that connects Liquefied Petroleum Gas users to sellers across Nigeria.

The company said in a statement on Tuesday that the app was aimed at ensuring increased adoption and safe distribution of cooking gas in the country.

The Chief Executive Officer, Smart Gas, Dr Yinka Opeke, said, “This app aggregates consumers, gas retailers, and drivers. However, to consummate a sale, a client must sign up to place an order, a driver must sign up to accept the order and a gas retailer must sign up to sell products.

“These three players are essential on the app. Registered clients can place orders from any part of the world, home or abroad, but the delivery address must be Nigeria.”

According to her, the seamlessness in the order process is such that once a client places an order on the mobile app, it immediately becomes visible on the dashboard of a nearby drivers who then accepts the order and proceeds to fulfill it at the nearest registered independent gas retailer.

She said, “Delivery charges are based on kilometres covered using Google maps. On the Smart Gas App, clients can monitor the progress of their orders via notifications and live tracking, and their unique referral code can be shared with family and friends.
