Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has condemned bullying in schools, urging pupils to encourage one another to grow.
He spoke on Friday when he opened some facilities at the Lagos State Model College, Igbokuta, in the Ikorodu axis of the state.
Facilities which the governor opened were a 12-classroom building and a 182-bed hostel for junior girls, fitted with a laundry room, reading room and housemistress quarter.
The governor also promised that the Imota Rice Mill, when fully functional next year, would give free rice to the school monthly as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Sanwo-Olu admonished teachers to always listen to the pupils so that bullying could be curbed to the barest minimum.
He said: “Say no to bullying. If you see something say something, that is not snitching. Seniors stay away from the junior hostel if you have no genuine reason to be there.
“Our teachers should also listen to the pupils always, hear them out. When you listen to their little stories, they will tell you the big ones. We need to eradicate bullying to the barest minimum.”
